(A1). What is mushroom pinhead dry?
Mushroom pinhead dry is major problem in mushroom production. The drying of pinhead is observed in its early development stage. It is very important to know about the cause of drying and its management.
(A2). What is the cause of pinhead drying in mushroom?
Causes are as follows:
- Direct entry of sunlight in mushroom production room.
- Similarly, direct entry of warm air in mushroom production room.

(A3). Why is this problem?
The pinheads of mushroom are very soft. Due to the small size of head, it is prone to direct sunlight and warm air. These factors prevent the further development of pinhead. A direct contact for half an hour may result in drying of pinhead.
(A4). How to control it?
Direction of the door: The door of the mushroom production house shouldn’t face direct sun. If it is, then cover the door using any cloth.
Similarly, make the door in that direction which doesn’t receive direct wind always.

(B1). Mushroom ink cap or inky mushroom
Mushroom ink cap or inky mushrooms are the unwanted species of mushroom. We can say it the weed of mushroom.
(B2). What is this?
At least 15 days after the spawning, a mushroom grow notice the emergence of a different species of mushroom which has following characteristics:
A white stripe: Mushroom stripe is white, and it is slender.
Small stripe: The stripe of mushroom is small.
Pinhead: It looks like the beak of a bird.

(B3). What is the cause of it?
The main cause is temperate. A temperature above 32 °C cause this problem.
(B4). What happens next?
- The stripe grows significantly in the next 2 to 3 days.
- It opens with black spores and continues its life cycle.
(B5). What are the demerits?
- These are non-edible species of mushroom.
- It is a weed of main species of mushroom.
- This species of mushroom compete with the main species of mushroom to use nutrients.
- It prevents the growth of the main species.
(B6). Control measure
- Don’t do spawning if the temperature inside the mushroom production room goes above 32 °C.
- Avoid the spawning of mushroom during April, May, and June.
